Darwi air dry clay is well known for the fineness of its grain and is used for any modelling or sculpting work. This can be used to make small decorative items, jewellery, dolls, statuettes or even to repair some materials such as furniture.
It does not smell and does not stick to the hands, so the work stays pleasant. The clay is flexible and semi-elastic. It does not shrink when drying and is completely opaque.

Usage Instructions
To start off, knead the self-hardening clay by adding a bit water to it. Knead it thoroughly and add more water as needed, it is ready to be worked when no cracks are formed.
Take small pieces of clay and add as you go along. Work quickly. You may notice some parts are starting to dry after working on it for while, in this case you can slightly moisten the clay. If you want to add one element to another already dry, moisten the surface before placing the second part or use our Darwi super strong acrylic adhesive to weld two dry elements.
If you are working the clay on a porous material, be sure to coat the material with water first to prevent the water in the air dry clay from immediately disintegrating and drying as this could cause cracks.
When you have done with your sculpture, let it dry and rest on paper towels. If you do not have paper towels, be sure to turn the creation so that the base can dry too.
Allow 24 hours for the clay to completely dry, although the time is indicative as it can vary depending on the humidity of the room. Cracks may appear if you try to speed up the drying time.
Finish the sculpture off with acrylic paints and varnishes.
Storage Instructions
The open package of air-dry clay should be stored in an airtight manner away from air and heat. To keep unused clay fresh for months, you can wrap clay in a damp sheet, secure it in an airtight bag, and place it in the fridge.
